Yearning for full illumination is a powerful aid to remaining focused on the spiritual path. Without intense desire for illumination of consciousness it can be easy to go off course, to be tempted to settle for less than what is possible, or to become sidetracked because of being fascinated with perceptions of relative phenomena. One may experience authentic spiritual growth to a certain stage of unfoldment and falsely assume that the goal has been attained. Or one may become self-righteous because of partial attainment.
I have known many “devotees of God” who were able to experience preliminary levels of superconsciousness, yet who continued to dramatize self-serving behaviors and attitudes which indicated their lack of emotional and spiritual maturity. They had acquired a considerable degree of functional ability and could meditate and experience tranquil mental states, but were not inspired to transcend their limitations. They made the spiritual path their abode, instead of going beyond it to full mental illumination and liberation of consciousness.
Speak this positive affirmation:
Each day I renew my commitment to go all the way to full mental illumination and liberation of consciousness.
Have a good day . . . and a great life!
