If you experience spontaneous meditation when you turn your attention to the process, you need not use meditation techniques except for special occasions when meditation does not occur easily. Meditation techniques are practical tools to use when needed. When the purpose of using a meditation technique has been served, it can be discarded.
If you have a religious orientation, prayer can be a direct approach to meditation practice. For this, simply and sincerely pray to God. Pray for spiritual awakening, for realization of yourself as a spiritual being, and for knowledge and experience of God. Pray, then be still and let meditation unfold.
Speak this positive affirmation:
After using a centering technique I rest in stillness and let my meditation unfold.
Have a good day . . . and a great life!
